Seoullit is an English-language site about Korean sunscreen.
Who runs Seoullit
Two people run Seoullit: a Korean husband and a British wife. Between us, we are native speakers of Korean and English. Seoullit is published under the pen name Jungyeon Schofield Sullivan Kim, the name you see in the byline on each article.
Together we also run a beauty account on Instagram and X. As of October 2026, it has more than 90,000 followers on X.
Why Seoullit exists
Much of the useful information about Korean sunscreens is written in Korean: user reviews on Naver blogs, Olive Young product listings, and documents from Korea’s Ministry of Food and Drug Safety. Seoullit exists to bring them into English and set them next to the products’ full ingredient lists.
How an article is made
Articles about a specific product start from its full ingredient (INCI) list, in the order printed on the label. From there they bring in brand and retailer listings, regulator records and published studies. Other articles answer more general questions, such as how Korea and the US regulate UV filters, or how much sunscreen to apply. When an article quotes a Korean review in a quote box, the original Korean is shown alongside the English, with a link to where the review was posted.
Our How Seoullit Works page sets out the method in more detail.
How we use AI
Seoullit’s articles are produced with AI assistance.
- AI tools help us research topics, draft and check articles, and translate Korean sources.
- Before a new article is published, automated checks compare its quotes, numbers, ingredient positions and links with the original sources. Some of these checks are run by separate AI agents that did not write the article, and some by scripts.
- We choose the topics, set the editorial rules and decide what is published.
Reviews and best picks
None of our reviews or best-pick lists is a wear test. Our reviews and most of our best-pick lists are ingredient-label analyses. There are no original product photos on Seoullit.
How Seoullit makes money
Seoullit may show display advertising. Some articles also contain Amazon affiliate links: if you buy through one, we may earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. Our Affiliate Disclosure explains how these links work and how they are marked.
