Medical Disclaimer

Seoullit publishes general information about sunscreens: what is on the ingredient list, what the UV filters are, and how products are labelled and regulated in Korea, the US and elsewhere. It is not medical advice, and it is not a substitute for advice from a doctor, dermatologist or pharmacist. Neither of us is a dermatologist.

Talk to a professional if

  • you have a skin condition, such as eczema, rosacea or acne, that is being treated;
  • you react to sunlight, or you take a medication that can make your skin more sensitive to the sun;
  • you are choosing sun protection for a baby or a young child;
  • a product gives you a rash, swelling, or any reaction that does not settle. Stop using it and ask for advice.

The label on your bottle is the one that counts

Brands reformulate, and the same product name can be sold with different formulas in different countries. We check ingredient lists at the time of writing and try to say which version we read, but always read the label on the product you actually have.

Tools and estimates

Our calculators and quizzes give estimates based on the sources and assumptions explained on each tool’s page. They are not a diagnosis.

If you think you are having a severe reaction, contact a medical professional or your local emergency services. For anything else, you can reach us through our Contact page.
